DEATH RIDE TOUR
Sunday, June 9th – 11th, 2018
The Death Ride Tour is an annual three-day cycle event to support ALS TDI(ALS Therapy Development Institute) and the Blazeman Foundation for ALS, Inc, MA (War On ALS). This 235-mile ride is considered to be one of the most beautiful loops in all of North America traversing 5 mountain passes along the San Juan Skyway in Southwestern Colorado. Day one is 71 miles from historic Silveton to majestic Telluride. Day Two is 118 miles from Telluride to rugged Durango. We kick off day three in front of the Durango-Silverton train before making the 51 mile trek up Coal Bank and Molas Passes for the incredible decent into Silverton. Join us for an event that will change your life as well as those affected by ALS.
“Sometimes we find that life isn’t fair and we all have to fight no matter what it throws at us. Everyone must deal with death and disease, but it is how you deal with it that matters. I am a cyclist, that’s what I do. That’s why I ride the DEATH RIDE Tour with some help from my friends.“
Michael Cimbura – ALS patient diagnosed January 2015. 2016 & 2017 DEATH RIDER.
“Barry, I have ridden the Death Ride Tour three times now for two reasons. One is to enjoy the spectacular San Juan mountains. An incredible place that presents a significant challenge to any cyclist that ventures into those mountains. The other is to share in the enthusiasm and energy that you, your family and the other riders bring to helping others with their battles with ALS. I feel a genuine camaraderie with the other riders as we complete each day’s ride and am thankful for what I can do with those riders to help others. In 2017 I will ride the DEATH RIDE Challenge to complete the ultimate challenge in supporting the War On ALS.”
